Regular consumers SSDs, whose general performance is limited to Sequential IO operations, are not the best for sustained server workloads where the word fast is key. Our Intel NVMe DataCenter enterprise-grade multiple VPS storage systems, provides sustained and concurrent Random IO and high lightning-fast read and write operation speeds as published values are random 4k IO operations, which are used in over 80% of the high power general workloads, like databases and heavy visited e-commerce website.
Unlike the majority of other Hosting Providers which are emphasizing their storage capacity, we do feel transparent to publish our IOPS limits & values for each plan, so that our End Customer knows what he will be purchasing.
IO is an Input/Output operation which a storage device of any type performs when Reading,Writing,Modifying or even Deleting data on a drive. The true performance of a storage device medium is being measured in IOPS (Input/Output operations per Second), which is measuring the ability of a storage device to perform multiple operations at once, in random sequences. For example a database file structure is divided into multiple files which are being randomly access when in use. In contrast, working with large files is the use case of generating Sequential IO which is measured in MB/s and it is not commonly used in VPS Cloud Environments, as over 80% of the software systems act on Random IO when using a VPS storage device.
